It is Okay to Be Sad
There is no time limit for grieving.
Last year was full of unexpected and unhappy surprises. It was as if someone had opened a pandora box, to fill the world with death and illness. Covid has been a plague-like no other, even after 18 months it is still going strong.
Last year like so many other people I too lost a family member. Recovering from a death of a loved one is a hard task. Accepting the fact that you will never meet or hug them again is heavy.
But we need to move on and celebrate their beautiful life, by always keeping them in our memory.
Covid and Cancer Do Not Mix Well
My grandma died of the same disease that took the lives of her daughter and granddaughter. When my aunt died my grandma complained and cried at her misfortune to witness one of her kids' demise. She was inconsolable she grieved for months.
My cousin died young at the age of 36, my grandma felt aggrieved to mourn for her short life. She cursed the fates, she asked the gods to take her instead but alas there was still time.
We found out about her brain cancer when she had already started to lose her mental capabilities. It was stage III giloma. There was nothing that any doctor can do to save an 89 years old woman from stage three…
